Project Overview
The Challenge
A large sloped lot with tired shrubs, eroding mulch, and nothing for kids or grandparents to enjoy safely. The owners wanted it all — play space, color, privacy — without a yard that demanded weekends of work.
Our Approach
We terraced the slope into three level garden rooms: play lawn on top, perennial terraces in the middle, and a shaded seating nook below. Every terrace got drip irrigation, and paths with proper steps tie the levels together.
The Result
Three generations use the yard daily, erosion is gone, and maintenance runs on a seasonal plan instead of weekend marathons. Water use dropped by a third thanks to zoning and drip.
- Terraced garden rooms with safe stepped paths
- Layered planting for spring-to-fall interest
- Zoned irrigation with drip on every terrace
